Who Is Bashing Trial Lawyers

I'm the first to admit that I sometimes laugh at lawyer jokes. Like the one about the attorney who fell out of the ocean liner only to be thrown back aboard by sharks out of "professional courtesy."

But I think that the lawyer bashing that has taken place over the past several years has been driven by something more than humor. Many in the business and insurance communities have an agenda that includes continually demonizing lawyers. The companies understand that if the public sees victim's lawyers as greedy and corrupt, they (the companies) have a leg up when they have to square off against one of these lawyers in the courtroom. The real losers in all this are the accident victims in personal injury cases who have the cards stacked against them from the outset. So the next time you hear trial lawyers being run down ask yourself who has an agenda to do this. Please watch the attached video for more information:
